The PYP Exhibition
For the IB Primary Years Programme Exhibition, QAIS students in Grades 4, 5, and 6 have built their own units of inquiry around the theme of Sharing the Planet. In small groups, they developed their own central ideas and unit questions, researched their topics, and made arrangements to visit sites around the city for research. The different groups examined animal welfare, faiths, pollution, and energy use, visiting zoos, houses of worship, waste treatment, and power plants, respectively. They refined their messages, and have now presented those messages to their parents and the school community!
On Friday night, the students in Grades 5 and 6 made their presentations to parents; this morning, Grade 4 parents and peers from the Primary Years Programme and Secondary came through to experience the Exhibition for themselves.
Through the IB Primary Years Programme, students master the ability to build deep understanding of an idea. As a school community, we are very proud of the way that Grades 4, 5, and 6 have shown themselves to be courageous in their inquiry, and effective in communicating their knowledge! We congratulate the students, and their teacher Mr. Patrick Campbell, and Ms. Hui Yuan, for their dedication and perseverance in developing and carrying out the PYP Exhibition!
