MYP 2 students recently embarked on an innovative interdisciplinary journey through their unit, Art in Evolution of The Remix, where music, technology, and social consciousness converged to create immersive artistic expressions. Students explored the power of remix culture by transforming spoken word into interactive sound sculptures. Using an electrical interface and the Makey Makey invention kit, inspired by the MIT Media Lab, they remixed a speech by spoken word artist Prince EA, addressing global issues such as deforestation and limited water resources.
To bring their remixes to life, students utilized GarageBand to compose unique soundscapes, blending Prince EA’s message with their own musical creativity. Each student then crafted interactive sculptures, leveraging conductivity to enable hands-on engagement. By integrating the human body as a conductor, participants could activate and remix the sound by touching elements on the sculpture and controller, creating a truly experiential piece of art.
The interactive nature of these sculptures transformed passive listening into an immersive experience, where viewers could mix and remix the students’ compositions simply by altering the sequence of their interactions. Some installations even incorporated collaborative elements—when two people high-fived while connected to the sculpture, a remix would play, reinforcing themes of unity and connection.

学生们利用车库乐队 （GarageBand） 创作出独特的音乐背景，再将Prince EA的演讲话语与他们自己的音乐创意交织，形成一个充满生命力的混音作品。学生们继而制作出一个导电“音乐雕塑”装置，利用人体导电原理，使观众通过触碰“音乐雕塑”和控制元件即可实时激活或重组音轨，将静态展览升级为一场真正的互动式艺术体验——观众的指尖成为创作工具，通过改变触摸顺序即可在学生们的音乐作品上实现混音和重混，还有一些装置甚至纳入了合作元素——当两个人在连接到“音乐雕塑”时击掌，混音便会播放，以此凸显团结与连接的主题。

최근 MYP 2 학생들은 ‘리믹스의 진화 속 예술(Art in Evolution of The Remix)’ 라는 단원을 통해 음악, 테크놀로지, 그리고 사회적 인식을 융합한 혁신적인 학제간 융합 여정을 시작했습니다. 학생들은 구어체(spoken word)를 인터랙티브 사운드 조각으로 탈바꿈시키며 리믹스 문화의 힘을 탐구했습니다. MIT 미디어 랩(Media Lab)에서 영감을 받은 Makey Makey 발명 키트와 전자 인터페이스를 활용하여, 학생들은 예술가 프린스 EA(Prince EA)의 연설을 리믹스했으며, 이 연설은 산림 파괴와 물 부족과 같은 글로벌 이슈를 다루고 있습니다.

이러한 조각은 단순한 감상을 넘어, 관람객이 상호작용의 순서를 바꾸는 것만으로 학생들의 음악을 믹스하고 리믹스할 수 있는 몰입형 경험을 제공했습니다. 일부 설치물은 협동 요소까지 포함하여, 두 사람이 손을 맞잡는 순간 리믹스가 재생되도록 설계되었고, 이는 ‘연결’과 ‘일체감’이라는 주제를 더욱 강화시켰습니다.
