Spring 2015 Co-Curricular Activities
Students at Qingdao Amerasia International School receive a holistic curriculum that emphasizes social and emotional development as much as academic abilities. But what about other essential skills, like needlepoint? Cooking? Computer programming? Zumba? Alright – juggling?
Last week, QAIS teachers launched a co-curricular activities program in which students in Grades 1-10 could pursue another skill, language, or activity of their choice. Offerings in Elementary included Chinese Calligraphy, Newsletters, Ceramic Wind Chimes, Chess, Needlepoint, Crochet, and Math. Meanwhile, Secondary students did Computer Programming, Conversational French (they’re going to Paris next week), Cooking, Juggling, Hiking, Model United Nations, and Zumba.
Our surveys say the students had a ball, and the teachers got to impart another activity that they love! Enjoy the photos!
