QAIS Staff Profile of the Week – Trisha Hasbrouck, College and Guidance Counsellor, Events Coordinator, and Speech Teacher
As you’ll see by my answers, I’m a little old-school. I guess that’s why they’re called classics!
What is your favorite film or TV show and why?
Roman Holiday, with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn, has been my favorite movie since I was a senior in high school. My incredible English teacher, Mr. Fleming, showed it to us in class, and I became swept away in the beauty, romance, and heartbreak of the story.
What famous person do you admire most and why?
I admire the late Paul Newman. He was exceptionally talented and portrayed a variety of intriguing characters, but most importantly, he gave generously and selflessly to charity while living fully to the very end.
What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte. Oh my goodness… this book is SOOOOO good. There’s romance, drama, suspense, mystery, and the main character defies cultural and societal norms. I first read it in high school, and I’ve since taught it to my high school students. For generations, it has remained engaging and relevant.
