Poland in the Peony Cottage

Last Friday, parent Barbara Wardak came to the Peony Cottage to share activities from her native Poland! After finding Poland on their map work, students learned about the country, and then split in to groups to enjoy a snack of delicious Polish strawberry dumplings, and make their own Polish flags. Also, December 4th is Babórka, a popular festival honoring miners and St. Barbara, so Barbara taught the students how to make the traditional plumed miner’s hats that are part of the festival costume!

At Qingdao Amerasia International School, we treasure opportunities for parents to come in and share about their home countries, languages, cultures, jobs, and other aspects of being internationally-minded.
