Parent Teacher Conferences October 2016 长 – 老师见面会

Parents in the Lower School met with teachers this past week to learn about their children’s progress and to gain insight on how to support them at home.

In the Upper School, nearly all parents joined their children and teachers in conferences to learn what their children have been doing inside each of their classes. The reflection component allowed students to think about what and how they are learning and to set goals for themselves in each subject area.

As the American philosopher and educational reformer John Dewey stated, “We do not learn from experience … we learn from reflecting on experience.”

Parent conferences are vitally important to strengthen the home-school connection and to build the foundation of support necessary for children to excel.  We thank all parents for participating!

长 – 老师见面会

在上周举行的家长会上，小学部的家长们就孩子的学习进展以及如何在家里全面支持孩子学习等问题向老师们积极请教并学习。

几乎所有中学部的家长都准时出席会议并与学生和老师们一起就课堂学习内容而展开深度讨论。这种形式的总结和反思将帮助学生思考如何提高学习效率从而达到每一科目的学习目标。

就如美国哲学家/教育家John Dewey所定义的：“我们不从经验中学习…我们学习反思经验。”

家长会对于强化学校和家长之间的紧密关系显得至关重要，构建一个必要的支持平台从而帮助孩子更好的去学习。我们感谢所有家长的积极参与！
