MYP Personal Project Presentation
Last Wednesday our Middle Years Programme students presented their major projects to the school community. Students in MYP 3 (Grade 8) completed a community project, a major activity that focused on community and service, and encouraged students to explore their rights and responsibility to implement service as action in the community. The project gave students an opportunity to develop awareness of needs in various communities, and address those needs through service learning. As a consolidation of learning, the community project engages in a sustained, in-depth inquiry leading to service as action in the community. MYP 5 (Grade 10) students presented their personal projects; these projects call on students to pursue an area of personal interest (outside of their school curriculum) and to demonstrate their skills in research, communication, critical and creative thinking, and collaboration, to create a product or outcome and to present what they have done to the whole community.
For their Personal Projects, students in MYP 5 researched Music in Film, Qingdao Restaurants, Promotional Videos, Coats of Arms, and Photography.
