MYP Personal Project
Grade 10 students pursued life-long interests, created new products, and learned new skills through their MYP Personal Project. Last Friday, they presented their projects to students from throughout the school.
The Personal Project is extended research that each student carries out over several months. It is an example of inquiry in action, as it reflects each student’s ability to initiate, manage, and direct his own inquiry within a global context. It also gives students a chance to show the skills and attitudes they have developed at the end of the MYP. Each student produced a process journal and a research paper, and summarized the experience in a multi-media presentation.
Working with staff advisors, students researched and created a rich variety of projects, according to their personal interests: trilingual local guidebooks; Korean hanbok artwork; electronic dance music; national songs; a paleontology exhibit; new automotive technologies; kickboxing demonstrations; equipment made from ‘up-cycled’ waste; and all-weather gear for the active housecat.
Congratulations to our Qingdao Amerasia International School Grade 10 students on your personal achievements through this project! Grade 9 are already beginning to consider what they will explore next year!
