Middle Years Programme Math and Science Fair

Last week, students participated in the Middle Years Programme Math and Science Fair! MYP students created and managed stations, where they introduced students from the Primary Years Programme to concepts and skills in Geometry and Perception.

In Geometry, MYP students taught how to create different shapes using a ruler and compass. The Perception stations looked at how our brains can be confused by the information that comes through our senses.

MYP students benefited by solidifying their understanding of the concepts to teach others, and also gaining greater appreciation of the elements and challenges involved in teaching and learning. In addition to the learning experiences, PYP students could see their older peers in the role of the teacher; this helps the younger students realize that they, too, can share their understanding with others.
