Little Master Gardeners by: Jacqueline Oussoren
Grade 1 students had the opportunity to visit the flower market last week to select plants, flowers, soil, seeds and pots in preparation for our second annual plant-a-thon! There was a lot of enthusiasm, discussion, and collaboration among all the rows of flowers and plants.
All QAIS students have been invited to contribute a flowering plant towards our collective efforts to create beautiful pocket and cluster gardens in different exterior areas of the school. We will first prepare the pots, planters and gardens, while our school-wide efforts will begin at the end of this week and the beginning of next.
In addition to beautifying the school, grade 1 students will also take time to identify and name the plants and flowers in our garden for all QAIS students and will continue to care for the QAIS gardens until the end of June.
