Happy New Year, Happy new campus!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Once in a blue moon, a dream comes true: today is one of these days at QAIS.
After months of construction, designing, packing, unpacking, decorating, today we were happy to introduce our new home at Qingdao Amerasia International School at the Baishan Campus.

From the humble beginnings in 2011, with 24 staff and 52 students, QAIS outgrew it’s building and after spending a wonderful 7 years it was time for us to look to the future and move to a new campus.

It took 2,5 months of construction, 25 construction crews, 9,5 days of moving, more than 100 truckloads of boxes and 3 days of unpacking but we’re proud to start the new year with a new campus.

Overlooking the Shilaoren bay, the QAIS Baishan campus spans 3 buildings:

Building 1:

The main building – where a welcome is provided by our amazing receptionists, is where you’ll find the Montessori classrooms, EC rooms, gross motor rooms and all the IB language and science classrooms. Together with an amazing library and the gym where PE teacher Mr. Reuben proudly awaits with the new climbing wall.

Together with all the administrative staff, custodial staff, nurse it is a place from which you’ll never want to leave (until you hear about the our next two buildings!)

Building 2:

Connected to the main building by a glass walkway, this building is without a doubt the tastiest of them all!

With private cooks preparing lunch for us in the bright cafeteria, we don’t expect to hear any compliments nor complaints as we guarantee that everyone will want to enjoy a delicious meal (and we try not to talk with a full mouth).

Except for the tasty bites and nibbles, there is more to be found in this building: the performing arts classrooms, whether you prefer playing and composing music or dancing to it, both can be done in the music classrooms on the second floor or the dance rooms on the third.

And while our previous auditorium enjoyed many great performances, our new state of the art auditorium will be able to host you, your parents, family, friends, neighbors and everyone else who can think of. While our stars are already born, we now can give them a fitting venue to perform, dazzling all with the latest of LED lighting systems, smoke machines and much more!

Building 3

Last but definitely not least, while it’s the smallest building out of three, the potential it has is endless. Divided in two floors, the ground floor contains the maker-space where ideas grow into concepts and become products. Here the sky isn’t the limit, with an unlimited imagination (and state of the art infrastructure), the sky is just the ceiling and the ceiling is the floor of the second floor where everyone’s arts teacher Mr. Chris prepared an amazing visual arts studio for everyone to flourish.

One thing which you might be missing in our new home: air purifiers.

It will be hard to find the air purifiers which kept our air clean before the holidays. Worrisome thought? It might be until you realize that these aren’t needed anymore, the new campus is outfitted with an excellent air filtration system.

But don’t take our word for it, during the tests over the holidays, we measured an AQI pm2,5 index of +300 outside, while inside it never went over 9.

To describe the new campus in three words:

Bigger, better, healthier and many times more amazing.

(while definitely more than three words, we’re THAT proud that we couldn’t use any less)

新年快乐，恭喜搬到新校园！

千载难逢，梦想在今天实现:今天对于美亚来说是一个特殊的日子。

经过几个月的施工、设计、装箱、拆箱、装修，布置，今天我们很高兴在青岛美亚国际学校白珊校区介绍我们的新家。

2011年美亚带着24名员工和52名学生，低调的开始了我们的教育事业。后来，美亚在此基础上成长起来，度过了美好的7年之后，我们是时候展望未来，搬入崭新的校园了。

虽然我们花了5个月的时间装修施工，调用了25个建筑工人队伍，耗时9.5天的搬运，100多卡车的箱子和3天的拆装，但是我们仍很自豪，能在新的校园里开始新的一年。

俯瞰石老人海湾，美亚校园占有3栋教学楼：

1号教学楼:

主教学楼——在这里前台老师会致以最诚挚的欢迎和问候，你将会在这里找到蒙特梭利的教室，幼儿园教室，总机房，以及所有的IB语言和科学教室。在这里还有一个神奇的图书馆和体育馆，体育老师Reuben在那里自豪地等待着大家体验新的攀岩墙。

另外还有所有的行政人员、监护人员、护士一起，这是一个你永远都不想离开的地方(直到你听说我们的下两幢楼！)

2号教学楼

这幢楼是用玻璃栈道连接到主楼的，毫无疑问，这是所有教学楼当中味道最美味的！

在明亮的餐厅里，有私人厨师为我们准备午餐，我们不希望听到任何恭维或抱怨，因为我们想让每个人都能享受美味的饭菜(我们都尽量不在吃饭的时候与人交谈)。

除了美味的饭菜和小吃，在这栋教学里还有更多的东西:表演艺术的教室，无论你是喜欢演奏、作曲还是跳舞，都可以在二楼的音乐教室里或者三楼的舞蹈室里尽情实现。

虽然我们的以前的礼堂有很多精彩的演出，但我们的新的艺术楼礼堂将能够接待你、你的父母、家人、朋友、邻居以及所有能想到的人。

虽然我们的小明星们已经诞生了，但我们现在可以给他们一个合适的场地来表演，让他们享受最新的眼花缭乱的LED照明系统，烟雾机和更多的舞台设备。

3号教学楼

然是在最后一栋楼，但绝对不是最不重要的，它是三个教学楼中最小的建筑，但它的潜力是无穷无尽的。在两层楼里，一楼有创客空间，在这里，创意变成了概念，变成了具体的实物。在这里，天空是无限的，带着无限的想象力，天空只是天花板，天花板即是二楼的地板，大家最喜欢的艺术老师Chris在那里准备了一个令人惊叹的视觉艺术工作室，让每个人都能施展自己的艺术才华。

在我们的新家，你可能会错过的一件事:空气净化器。在假期之前，很难找到空气净化器来保持我们的空气清洁。

这个想法令人担忧吗?

也许直到你发现新的校园里，已经配备了一个优秀的空气过滤系统，那些想法就不再重要。但是，不要单纯的相信我们的说法，在假期的测试中，我们测量了AQI pm2.5指数，在外部是300+，而它的内部却从未超过9。
