MYP 1 students explored famous mathematic equations that have shaped our understanding of the world. They researched, analyzed, and presented equations of varying complexity—such as the Pythagorean Theorem, Newton’s Second Law, and Einstein’s Mass-Energy Equivalence and even the Theory of Relativity (a subject only covered in IBDP Mathematics Curricula)—through interactive display boards. Students engaged with these concepts in a hands-on way and deepened their knowledge by applying equations to real-world scenarios. The unit culminated in a special event where students showcased their findings to parents, students and teachers, demonstrating their understanding through clear explanations, real-life applications, and problem-solving exercises. 

To better help parents understand the IB MYP mark scheme, Mr. Harry Phillips, MYP & DP Mathematics, gave parents the chance to assess their own child’s work. Parents were provided with the criteria C,D marking rubric, so they could understand the depth and breadth of MYP Mathematics!
