This is where we draw the line!
This week in Grades 4/5/6, we have been “Tuning In” to our new unit on how cities can change over time. One of the activities we enjoyed doing was looking at the work of Geoff Slater, a Canadian artist who is famous for his line paintings. Geoff has created many fantastic landscapes using a single line; a line that never crosses itself but simply changes colour.
The students started out by trying a simple flower, in order to practice their technique, before moving on to more complex pictures of landscapes. They had the opportunity to blend colours and create their own interpretations of some of Geoff’s paintings. You can see more of his work at http://www.geoffslater.com/
