Celebrating Dr Seuss’s Birthday

Celebrating Dr Seuss’s Birthday

No single author has had such direct impact on literacy in the English language as Theodore Seuss Geisel, known to the world as Dr Seuss. From The Cat in the Hat to Green Eggs and Ham, Fox in Socks, Horton Hears a Who, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and many, many more, Dr Seuss thrills with fun words and imaginative worlds that they can explore all by themselves. His works continue to delight readers of all ages across the globe.

Last week, in honor of Dr Seuss’s birthday, Grade 8 students came to the Bamboo Cottage and took turns reading Dr Seuss books to small groups of Toddlers. Students shared from Green Eggs and Ham, Hop on Pop, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and other classic Seuss tales. After reading, everyone came back together for cake. It was a joyful morning, and we are thankful to have Dr Seuss books to enjoy all year long.

Thank you to the Grade 8 students, Ms Emilie, Ms Abbie, Ms Suzy, Ms Lulu, and Mr Ashelman for putting together this terrific event!
