QAIS welcomed several new students this second semester, from Toddler to Grade 9/MYP 4, all through the virtual distance learning classroom. As caring, empathetic learners with a commitment to service, QAIS students embraced these new students in myriad ways.

The grade 4 class welcomed Lanaya Kumar, who is currently studying all the way from India. Students reached out directly via the Microsoft Teams chat function and created a ‘Girls Club’ where they are able to discuss topics other than school work, so as to foster strong relationship building and support for one another.

Bella Quinn (Grade 9/MYP 4) has been receiving welcoming messages from classmates, as she logs in from London. Students, old and new, create a positive difference in the lives of those around them through community action, while cultivating an inclusive and vibrant community.

Stephanie Mun (Grade 3) talking about her favorite historical figure, Mother Theresa. Mr. Kimi Tsuchiya says: “She has been a great addition to our class. She is a hard worker and turns in high-quality work. She has been wanting to start school and see her new friends.”

A message from Peppi (Grade 4) to Lanaya. Furthermore, Ms. Gracie McGill reflects: “Just because Lanaya is joining us virtually does not stop us from helping her out and building a relationship with her!”

Peppi(4年级)给新同学Lanaya的消息。主班老师Ms. Gracie McGill说,“虽然Lanaya通过虚拟课堂的方式加入班级,但我们仍然可以帮助到她,并与她建立友谊!
