Buddy Activity - Grade 1 Make Monsters With MYP Film

Last week, the G1 students were meeting my MYP Film students for our first buddy activity. My students are studying monster movies, and G1 had been watching and discussing Monsters, Inc. before drawing designs for their own monsters. They were asked to think about things that they themselves would find scary in a personal monster. In small groups, everybody talked about things they found scary or funny or cool about their monsters. They then started to turn their designs into full posters to illustrate their ideas. In a future session, we will think about storytelling and how we use monsters to express shared fears, issues, and anxieties to each other.
