Grades 3 and 4: Art as Communication

Grades 3 and 4 celebrated their inquiry into how, “Throughout history, people have interacted with each other and communicated through the arts.” Each student researched an artifact from a period of history, and wrote about its role in communication. There were paintings; a replica terra cotta warrior; a scale model pyramid with sarcophagus; a working model catapult; and a prosthetic arm, to name a few of the inspired creations.
