Amerasia provides education for children from toddler age through high school (18 months to 18 years), adhering to both Montessori and International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum programs.
The IB Continuum, which includes the Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programs, promotes critical thinking, global awareness, and a commitment to lifelong learning. It complements the Montessori method by preparing students to be well-rounded, internationally-minded individuals.
Assessment in both Montessori and IB programs at Amerasia focuses on holistic development. Montessori assessments are observational and individualized, while IB assessments include a mix of projects, exams, and reflections that encourage a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Students in MYP5 (Grade 10) will participate in program-culminating exams for each subject group called eAssessments, and DP students participate in global DP Exams at the end of Grade 12.
Amerasia offers a robust language program that includes Mandarin, English, Korean, Spanish, and additional languages based on student interest. The school promotes multilingualism through immersive language experiences and cultural activities.
Amerasia offers a diverse range of extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, music, drama, robotics, and various clubs that cater to a wide array of interests and help foster well-rounded development.
Amerasia places a strong emphasis on social and emotional learning through its unique Peace Education Program that promotes self-awareness, empathy, conflict resolution, and teamwork through regular individual and group reflection activities and goal setting, as well as through our Advisory and Mentoring Program. The school environment is designed to be nurturing, and supportive and professional counseling is available in both English and Mandarin.
Our teaching staff consists of highly qualified educators with specialized training in both Montessori and IB methodologies. Over 75% hold advanced degrees and certifications, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom.
