MYP STUDENTS PUT SERVICE IN ACTION IN GAN SU PROVINCE l MYP学生在中国甘肃提供志愿服务

Grades 8 (MYP 3) to 10 (MYP 5) broadened their minds internationally by spending a week in Gan Su Province, where they supported a local orphanage, learnt more about Chinese history and culture first-hand, and visited different parts of Noth-West China. The trip forms part of the Service as Action , on of the core components of the MYP curriculum, which connects what students learn in the classroom to the real-world and engages students in making a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment.  

8年级（MYP 3）至10年级（MYP 5）的学生前往甘苏省一周，为当地孤儿院提供志愿服务，此外他们还访问了中国西北的不同地区，亲身体验中国的历史和文化，从而开阔了他们的国际的视野。 

此行是 MYP 课程的核心项目“Service as Action”(服务即行动)的组成部分之一，学生将课堂上学到的内容与现实世界联系起来，为他人生活和环境方面做出积极改变。

Alex Cha (Grade 9):   

There were a lot of new experiences, some of them were very challenging, but I think this was a very valuable trip. I learnt more about Chinese culture, and build good relationships with my classmates during this valuable time together.  

此行有很多新的经历，其中一些非常有挑战性，但我认为这是一次非常有价值的旅行。在这宝贵的时光里，我学到了更多的中国文化知识，并与同学们建立了良好的关系。 

Daan Vershoof (Grade 8):  

I was able to develop my abilities of painting murals and I also challenged myself by trying to understand what the teacher was saying in Chinese before my friends helped me if I did not understand something.  

我有机会学习绘画壁画，我也挑战了自己，试图自己理解老师说的中文，而不是一不明白就向我的朋友求助。
