Parent-Teacher Association Sets the Bar High with Champagne & Canapé Evening
“This is what we want to achieve as the PTA moving forward; collaboration, connection, innovation, closer bonds and much more” – Parent-Teacher Association Heads
This school year was a year of firsts. Last Saturday evening, QAIS saw its first parent-led Parent Teacher Association, headed by four dedicated moms, Aslene Kho, Kun Zhai, Alexandra Schroeter and Faye Chen, and its first Champagne and Canapé Event!
It was an elegant evening at the InterContinental Hotel, Qingdao, with free-flowing Champagne, music and wonderful student art. The art on display was donated by students and was part of a blind auction that raised money for the QAIS Education Fund.
The evening started with a performance by our very own Qingdao Amerasia International School Orchestra performing Vivaldi and Bohemian Rhapsody by QUEEN! The event drew out a big crowd of parents and teachers to an amazing first event of such a grand nature.
The PTA-Heads state that their vision is to create a connection between parents, as well as the school and the parents, to build a strong QAIS community. They believe this event helped to realize that objective. The highlight was seeing parents, teachers and students working hand-in-hand to create such an amazing evening.
Dom Perignon was right when he compared drinking Champagne to tasting the stars and the QAIS PTA event was just as magical.
