Jimo Rural School Service Project: Grades 7 and 8

Jimo Rural School Service Project: Grades 7 and 8

Our 7th and 8th grade students visited an elementary school in Jimo on Thursday, May 22.  This trip was part of our continuing outreach efforts with the rural school, which was initiated last year.  The trip and the content was organized by our IB Diploma Program Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) Coordinator, Chris Cronin.

The students prepared and led  three different activities for the Jimo students.  One activity focused on creating original art.

QAIS students participated in a warm up activity and played football with the Jimo students in another activity group.  Being able to wear an orange vest seemed important to some.

The third activity focused on a series of cooperative teambuilding games.

After we returned to school, the students met in a large group and we processed our activities, involvement, and the significance of our trip.
