2014 Art Show at QAIS

Students at Qingdao Amerasia International School have had a creative year! Led by Art teachers James Abbott and Li Yan (as well as Music teacher Charla Esser and Technology teacher JD Holtrop), they have explored sketching, painting, plaster, ceramics, digital media, and more. They have used Art to express their interests and fascinations, and to demonstrate the new understanding that they have gained in other classes.

On June 4th, QAIS was honored to open our first annual Art Show, featuring work by students from Early Childhood through Grade 12! There were an array of paintings, photographs, collages, sketches, glazed ceramics; a listening station for original musical compositions; and video projections. Primary students had an opportunity to view the work and meet the artists on June 4th, and many parents came to view the exhibition in connection with the Variety Show on June 6th.

After voting by event attendees, Art Director James Abbott announced the winners at the Variety Show.
